Welcome to the first of a series of posts highlighting the team at Van Heron Labs! This week, we are featuring Mark Bray, who completed an internship with us during the summer of 2020.
Mark Bray is a senior studying biomedical engineering and professional writing at Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Worcester, MA. He joined Van Heron Labs this past spring and has been an awesome addition to our team! Mark has worked across several teams at Van Heron Labs to develop our platform, and commercialize our technology.
A natural tinkerer, Mark loves hand-on work and is always looking to learn something new. Before joining us, Mark conducted research on cardiovascular tissue regeneration and spent a summer developing lateral flow assays for GMO detection. He is a natural leader and is active in several organizations at WPI. In addition to being on the WPI Track & Field team, he works with the Engineering Ambassadors program to inspire the next generation of STEM students, and as a head tutor with the WPI Writing Center and GoPeer, an online tutoring platform. After graduating this spring, Mark will be seeking full-time positions in biomedical engineering, computational biology, or medical devices.
In his free time, Mark loves to read, watch and play soccer, bike, and cook. Be sure to connect with him, and follow our page!
